Overview
This document will help you understand how you can connect Zoom with SureTriggers, how you can take actions in any other app when a Zoom trigger runs, and how you can create meetings in your Zoom account when events take place in other apps.
Prerequisites
- Free or paid Zoom account
- SureTriggers account
- Any 3rd Party App to connect add-in workflow to automate repeating tasks(Ex: ClickUp)
Release Note for New App Users
You need to authorize the SureTriggers app as we have added the scopes that will allow you to use the Zoom application more broadly. We have added scopes:-
- View all user meetings /meeting:read:admin
- View and manage all user meetings /meeting:write:admin
With the help of these scopes, you can now easily create or view a Meeting or in your Zoom account.
Zoom Triggers
We’ve one trigger for Zoom that can start your workflow when new meetings are created so you can take any actions like sending invites to your guests on WhatsApp, or adding an event in your Google Calendar, etc.
Zoom Actions
We also have Zoom action to help you create meetings in your Zoom account when events take place in other apps. You can automatically create meetings when new items are created in Notion, ClickUp, etc.
Here’s How You Connect Zoom with SureTriggers
Connecting Zoom with SureTriggers is super easy. To add a new Zoom connection, please follow the steps below:-
- Login to SureTriggers
- Go to ‘Apps’ section from the left sidebar
- Click on ‘Add New Connection’ on the right side of the screen.
- Search for Zoom app
- Click on the Zoom icon
- Enter the Zoom account credentials that you want connect with SureTriggers in the login screen.
- Once logged in, you’re ready to create workflows to test your Zoom account
Setting Up Zoom triggers in SureTriggers
Once you’ve added your connection, let’s try creating a workflow to automatically create click-up tasks when a new meeting is created in Zoom. To create this workflow, follow these steps:-
- Go to the apps screen
- Click on the ‘Create New Workflow’ button
- Name your workflow
- Select trigger app as Zoom
- Select trigger event as ‘New Meeting Created’
- Test action and Save
- Click on the ‘Add Action’ button
- Select action app as ClickUp
- Select action event as ‘Create New Task’
- Map the details with the appropriate details in the fields.
- Test action
- Save
- Go back to your Zoom account and create a new meeting on the Zoom account that you’ve connected to test the trigger.
- Open your ClickUp account to see that the new tasks are created
Setting Up Zoom Actions in SureTriggers
Let’s try creating a workflow to automatically create Zoom meetings automatically when new task is created in ClickUp. This will help you understand how you can set up Zoom actions to create meetings based on information received from other apps.
To create this workflow, follow these steps:-
- Go to the apps screen
- Click on the ‘Create New Workflow’ button
- Name your workflow
- Select trigger app as ClickUp
- Select trigger event as ‘New Task’
- Fetch data and save
- Click on the ‘Add Action’ button
- Select an action app such as Zoom
- Select action event as ‘Create Meeting’
- Map the details as asked on the screen
- Test action and save
- Now, create a task in ClickUp
- You’ll find the meeting automatically created in Zoom when the task is created.
Note: You can use any other app instead of ClickUp to test. The configuration of Zoom triggers and actions would be the same as mentioned here.
Deleting Zoom workflows & Zoom connection
In case, you want to discontinue using SureTriggers with Zoom, you can remove Zoom accounts, being used in workflows, from SureTriggers, by following the steps:-
- Go to apps screen
- Find Zoom connection
- Click on connection
- Click on delete icon on the right of the screen
- Confirm that you want to delete the connection
- Once confirmed, Zoom connection will be removed from your SureTriggers account. SureTriggers will no longer be able to fetch or send data from/to your Zoom account.
